DESCRIPTION


This course introduces current Web site authoring tools that go beyond plain HTML and provide advanced features such as Javascript, Dynamic HTML (dHTML) and site management tools. Students will learn not only how to use and integrate these tools into practical Web production but also how they are used by professionals in team-based production environments. Tools covered include: BBEdit, GoLive, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, ImageReady and Flash. Other topics examined are the design process, information design and architecture, interface design, image creation, and advanced HTML.

ASSIGNMENT


Architect, design, build, and publish a user-friendly Web site, at least three levels deep and consisting of at least seven pages, which is cross-browser and -platform compatible, using advanced interactivity, including any one or more of the following: Javascript, cgi, dHTML, Flash. Planning materials such as a flowboard, audience profile, access goals, thumbnails etc. must accompany (or be built into) the site. Greeked text may be used.
